Meet the Committee

Meet the Carlton Committee (click on the left for details)

The Committee is elected by the membership to plan, organise, arrange, book, cajole, entertain, spend (occasionally) and administer on their behalf.

Committee meetings take place once a month to discuss matters of pressing importance and make those tough decisions, whether it’s choosing next year’s production line-up or picking a venue for the Christmas party.

Committee members are elected annually at the AGM by a vote of all the members who have turned up. Any member is welcome to stand for the committee (provided they’ve paid their fee – Treas.). By decree of the Hallowed Carlton Charter, the role of those elected to high office shall be:

1. To take a long view of the Carlton: where it has come from; where it is going; whether we ought to stop at Heston Services for coffee along the way.

2. To arrange and organise sufficient productions, workshops, readings, etc to maintain the interest and participation of the current (large and enthusiastic) membership.

3. To listen to the membership and take their views into consideration at all times

4. To maintain good relations within the Society, and with outside organisations such as theatres, community centres, etc.
